Clewiston -- Everglades City 400k

Clewiston -- Miccosookee 200k


The 400k is affectionally known as BIG CYPRESS LOOP ON STEROIDS.

Starting in Clewiston FL the ride meanders down to Snake Road through the Seminole and Miccosukee indian reserverations to the truck stop just above exit 49 off of I75.  From there you trace back and cut thgouth the farmlands between the Okaloacoochee forest and the Everglades National Preserve.  In the middle of no place special you start to hook down roads to FL29 that will take you into Everglades City where there will be a stop for lunch.  The road continues on down to the town of Chokoloskee. From there you backtack up HW 29 into the edge of the city of Immokalee next to the casino.  After that you will go out back onto route 846 but continue on route 833 to Devil's Garden area.  if your early enough you will be able to stop at Mary Lou's gas station.After that you will zig-zagaround  a abandon-housing development (some houses are there) back to US27 and back to Clewiston.

The route is flat and open country so expect it could be very windy.  There are long sections of nothing and the controls are set about 55 miles apart so carry enough liquids to make the distances.  Keep your eyes open for wildlife at times there can be lots of aquatic birds, you can spot allagators in the canals and if your lucky you may even see a Florida Panther! (A few of us have!)

NOTE: While there are several stores along the first 200 miles the stores after Immokalee are likely closed (at night) so be sure you get water and supplies in Immokalee before you leave! Chances are nothing will be open from mile 203 to the finish! (52 miles!)


The 200k is a shorter version of the 400k 

The 200k goes down to the Mikasookee truck stop but on the way back makes a detour out to Billy Swamp Safari beofre heading back.
